One of my main priorities as a United States Senator has been to ensure that women and families have access to the full range of health care choices. I have fought to make sure that women with private health coverage in Minnesota have access to important preventive health care services – including birth control – free of charge. Ninety-nine percent of women use birth control at some point in their lives, and more than half a million women in Minnesota have benefited from the requirement in the Affordable Care Act that insurance companies provide preventive health services, including birth control, free of charge.
